Anointing of the Sick

Anointing of the Sick

If you are sick or housebound, please let the clergy know, and we will be happy to arrange for Holy Communion to be brought to you in your homes. In addition, the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick can be received by any person who is in a serious state of mental or physical sickness. This is a gift that Christ gave to his disciples, to ensure that His healing touch reaches out to those who need it most. It is given to those who are in their final moments, but it is also given as a medicine to those who need to know God’s care, mercy and healing. Please do not delay in letting the priest know if you would like to receive this sacrament, and if you are in hospital, please ensure that you tell the nurse that you would like to see a Catholic priest. Currently Deacon Jim Murphy co-ordinates the Catholic chaplaincy team at the Hospital.
